The club stayed in Kingston for a second year in 2008. After the move back from Quebec, a repeat visit gave members a chance to build on what had worked in 2007, and to enjoy a show that felt familiar from the first moment.
Second year, same city
Returning to a venue takes some of the guesswork out of a show. The hall is known, the parking is known, and the local helpers already know the routine. In 2008 that showed in how smoothly the weekend ran. It was not a year of big changes, and that was the point.
The entry in 2008
The entry held steady. Ontario breeders turned out in good numbers, Quebec members made the trip again, and a handful of American exhibitors crossed the border. The mix was similar to 2007, which suggested the Kingston formula was working.
Looking ahead to Nova Scotia
Even as the club enjoyed Kingston, plans were already forming for 2009. The next Specialty would move much further east, to Windsor, Nova Scotia. That decision said something about the club: it was no longer content to rotate between Ontario and Quebec, and it wanted the national show to live up to its name.

As of 2026, the club is still completing the specialty archive. 2008 is worth recording well, because it closes the Ontario-Quebec chapter of the Specialty before the show moved to the Maritimes.
