Coton Cafe
The Canadian Coton de Tulear Club invites Coton fanciers in Canada and abroad to a coffee and a chat. Coton Cafe is an online group where people share photos, stories and everyday moments with their dogs. It is a place where the passion for this breed is understood.
The group is run through Facebook. If you would like the link, or you are not sure how to join, please write to us, call us, or come and visit us at a club event, and we will point you in the right direction.
Greeting cards
The club has a set of greeting cards celebrating the Coton, designed by the artist Jacob Benaroch. Each package holds eight different Coton photographs, and the inside of each card is blank, so you can use them for any occasion. Envelopes are included, and the set comes in a clear box tied with a silver ribbon. They make a nice gift for a Coton lover.

What's coming
The club's main event each year is the National Specialty, held in a different part of Canada. Details of the next Specialty, along with any other club gatherings, are posted here as soon as they are confirmed. From the archive: Specialty 2012 in St-Louis, Quebec
One good example of a club weekend was the 2012 Specialty, held during the show organised by the Club Canin du Centre du Quebec at St-Louis on 8 and 9 September. Twelve Cotons were entered, four males and eight females, spread across the elementary, puppy, junior, open and champion classes. The judge was Branislav Rajic, an FCI judge from Slovenia.
The results that weekend:
- Best Junior: Sandee's Georgia on my Mind. Breeder: Sandra Bearden. Owner: Kelly Bruce.
- Winner male: Kintana du Domaine de Polana. Breeder: Marie-France Prayal. Owner: Lorna Christie.
- Winner female: Domaine de Polana Giannidesign. Breeder: Marie-France Prayal. Owner: Corinna Yannoulopoulos.
- Best of Breed and Specialty: Ch. Sandees Tumbleweed Griffin. Breeder: Sandra Bearden. Owner: Linda Brookes.
- Best Puppy: Haskap du Domaine de Polana. Breeder and owner: Marie-France Prayal.
The judge took his time with each dog and was impressed by the quality of the entry. Members enjoyed being together, and by all accounts it was a great Specialty and a great weekend.
